Wharfe
Bank, Linton
Following
the initial visit to the site the potential to significantly enhance the
existing property was apparent straight away. This was due to the property’s
riverside location and size of plot. There was no vehicular access down
to the site so logistically this would be a challenge.
The property is hardly visible from the public domain and maintaining
the privacy and river views for the benefit of the occupants was a key
consideration.
Rather than total demolition the original property was utilized as a core
about which the new spaces extended and formed additional lower ground
floor media and recreation spaces.
The original roof space was converted to provide additional guest accommodation.
All main living zones and bedroom spaces have a river view and the ground
floor rooms focus and open up into the glazed orangery with access out
onto the raised terrace. .
